“Mannafact Pty Ltd (a manufacturing company) wanted to break into larger markets, but to do so they had to fill out the Health and Safety Questionnaires sent to them by their prospective clients.

The clients wanted to ensure all their contractors had a sharp focus on safety and environmental matters – and paperwork to back it up. Mannafact said they worked safely but had no formal system in place. The management team had no time to learn and develop a safety management system, let alone implement one as they were already wearing two or more hats each. Niv was called.

After an initial gap analysis and work on site we provided Mannafact with a tailor-made safety system. This enabled them to achieve the tender process requirements. However, the most important factor was that it led to the identification of numerous hazards in the business as well as a series of unrecorded incidents, which placed the workers in danger of injury and management in danger of prosecution. These were exposures they did not realise were in their business.”
